The Machine-gun 12.7 mm calibre M2 is a heavy machine gun and is carried in substantial numbers on the Table of Equipment within major units of combat arms. The 12.7 mm machine-gun is a versatile weapon capable of performing all the roles of the 7.62 mm GPMG with equal or greater effect. The above mg is mounted on the M3 tripod.
